April 2015 Meeting

We had a quick meeting due to an approaching storm later in the afternoon, but we still packed in some learning and fun.  After a sack lunch we had show and tell.  Elaine made a beautiful blanket on her Bond.

Kim is making the free poncho pattern we received at Spring Fling in Peru, Indiana, Her 1st garment on her Brother 930 standard gauge machine!

We got a lot of great motivation at the Spring Fling Seminar and Kim made the decision to battle her fear of the RIBBER!  We helped her set up the ribber with her standard gauge Brother 930 and went through several ribber demonstrations and practices.  Now she is wondering what she was scared of :-)  BJ demonstrated the cool cast on learned at the seminar that is soooooooo much easier than, but gives an identical product as the "broken toe" cast on.

March 2015 Meeting

We started out with a nice sack lunch and a "get caught up chat time".

Had an awesome show and tell. Sherry has been crocheting baby sweaters.

Kim has been going through the preprogrammed patterns on her bulky Electronic 270.

We decided we wanted to do more edgings. Kim had printed off some instructions she found online and we hopped to it!

Here are some of the results

We watched Diana Sullivan's new baby blanket DVD and discussed the upcoming Spring Fling machine knitting seminar in Peru Indiana! Only 3 members are going this year :-(

I will leave you with the adorable Easter centerpiece that our very talented Kim made!

February 2015 Meeting

We started out our meeting with a brown bag lunch and gab session. We then moved on to show and tell. Kim made a baby blanket on her bulky machine knitting 266 rows with a tuck stitch and then crocheting a border around it, isn't it beautiful?

Then we had to look at what Sherry had been up to, she has been busy!  Here are 3 "infinity" scarves with tuck patterns on her bulky.

Then some adorable and soft fingerless mittens!

And LOTS of dishcloths! Out of the sport weight "I love this Cotton"....very pretty!

Some of the gals wanted to review doing fairisle with a punch card. I would say we were successful!

Doris (our newest machine knitter!) wanted to review cast offs.

Kim wanted to learn how to program her own patterns into the bulky 270 and we practiced that several times very successfully.  All in All a full day of fun and learning!

January 2015 Meeting

Apparently I got so wrapped up in the meeting that I forgot to take pictures! AND forgot to collect annual dues!  It was a small meeting as several people were unable to attend. We started with a potluck of rigatoni in meat sauce, a lovely salad, garlic toast and two awesome cakes for dessert!

BJ helped Kim get the motor lined out on her Brother bulky 270 machine. We followed that with a demonstration of the worm trim. Luckily Leigh took a couple pictures of the swatch.

We watched several Diana Sullivan YouTube videos and learned some new tricks. We all left the meeting highly motivated to dive into our knitting!
